Five Minutes A Day Guide To Building An EBay Store

Five Minutes A Day Guide To Setting Up An eBay Store - Part 1 http://www.websellerscircle.com/members/325.cfm

What is an eBay store and why would you want one? That's a great question, and the perfect place to start this tutorial. An eBay store is by far the simplest and easiest way to get your products online. You don't need complicated shopping cart software, a merchant account, or in depth knowledge of Search Engine Optimization. EBay provides those tools for you so that you can focus on selling your products and building customer loyalty. . . .

Five Minutes A Day Guide To Setting Up An eBay Store - Part 2, The Basics http://www.websellerscircle.com/members/326.cfm

Once you open up your shop you'll be given a new landing page when you click on the "My eBay" link. This new page view is called Selling Manager. You'll notice an array of new features and functions -- which ones you get depends on which subscription level you choose.

Five Minutes A Day Guide To Setting Up An eBay Store - Part 3, Store Categories http://www.websellerscircle.com/members/327.cfm

Look for the Store Categories link to start setting up your store categories. You have a limit of 300 categories, including subcategories. Most stores don't come close to using that many, but the point is that you have a lot of navigation to make it easier for your buyers to find the products they are looking for.

Five Minutes A Day Guide To Setting Up An eBay Store - Part 4, Custom Pages http://www.websellerscircle.com/members/328.cfm

Now that you have the store categories in place it's time to set up a few custom pages. In the next section I'll show you how. Custom pages are designed to allow shop owners to further brand their store, offer promotion pages, add additional information or specifications about products, and tell more about the merchant.

Five Minutes A Day Guide To Setting Up An eBay Store - Part 5, About The Seller Page http://www.websellerscircle.com/members/329.cfm

Creating an "About The Seller" page is a little different. It's not technically a "Custom Page" rather a hybrid from the About Me page. I recommend you set this page up as this is the one and only page that eBay allows sellers to post outside links on. If you have a website outside eBay here is the place to promote it.

Five Minutes A Day Guide To Setting Up An eBay Store - Part 6, Store Promo Boxes http://www.websellerscircle.com/members/333.cfm

The eBay store Promo boxes are customizable boxes that show up at the top of each store category page and along the left side of the store pages, under the navigation. These boxes are automatically set up when you open your store to include two at the top for "New Arrivals" & "Ending Soon"

Five Minutes A Day Guide To Setting Up An eBay Store - Part 7, Store Keywords http://www.websellerscircle.com/members/337.cfm

Next up under Store Management is Search Engine Keywords. EBay starts you out by populating the meta tags and keywords by using information from your store description, categories and listing titles. If you have filled your store description and categories with keywords you may not need to do much adjusting at this point.

Five Minutes A Day Guide To Setting Up An eBay Store - Part 8, Store Newsletter http://www.websellerscircle.com/members/339.cfm

We are going to move past the HTML builder, which helps you create HTML links inside your store listings or custom pages. We're also going to skip the 'Feature List' link as well. I'll address some of the features on the list in the second part of this tutorial; Advanced eBay Store Design.

Five Minutes A Day Guide To Setting Up An eBay Store - Part 9, Store Listing Frame http://www.websellerscircle.com/members/344.cfm

Under the Marketing Tools links, in the Manage My Store area you'll find a link to the Listing Frame. The listing frame is specifically for the individual item listings. It puts a frame around the listing with clickable links to categories within your store. If you choose to use the Listing Frame the links are inserted in a logical order along the top and left side of the listing so you don't have to code them into each listing by hand.

Five Minutes A Day Guide To Setting Up An eBay Store - Part 10, Store Listing Feeds http://www.websellerscircle.com/members/345.cfm

The store listing feed helps your store by driving traffic to your listings from outside of eBay. While the rules have, and continue to, evolve with the search engines the listing fees should still be turned on.

Five Minutes A Day Guide To Setting Up An eBay Store - Part 11, Markdown Manager http://www.websellerscircle.com/members/347.cfm

Next in line is setting up your store promotions. Some of these promotions you'll set up and check periodically. Others, like Markdown Manager will help you create special limited time sales and are used on an 'on call' bases.

Five Minutes A Day Guide To Setting Up An eBay Store - Part 12, Cross Promotions http://www.websellerscircle.com/members/356.cfm

Next up is setting your 'in store' cross promotions. These Cross Promotion settings will appear when your buyer purchases and checks out using the eBay system. These are not the cross promotions that show up automatically with sellers listings showing on your items. These Cross Promotions are specific to your store and buyer communications.

Five Minutes A Day Guide To Setting Up An eBay Store - Part 13, Seller Top Picks http://www.websellerscircle.com/members/358.cfm

Next up under the Marketing Tools tab is Favorite Top Seller picks. Some buyers prefer to bookmark their favorite shops and have quick access to them from their My eBay. That's what marking them as Favorite Sellers does.

Five Minutes A Day Guide To Setting Up An eBay Store - Part 14, End Of Auction Emails http://www.websellerscircle.com/members/364.cfm

Finally, under the Marketing tab comes: Logos and Branding. In this area you can set up the end of auction emails and invoices to include your store logo and a small, text blurb. You can invite buyers to purchase multiple items, come back again, thank them for shopping with you, etc. Just remember this email is in plain text, no HTML and eBay doesn't allow off site links even here.
