How To Forward A Domain Using GoDaddy
Cindy Shebley
Printer-Friendly Format

To forward a domain using godaddy

Step 1 log into your account

Step 2 Mouse over the "My Account" button to see the drop down menu. Click on "Account Settings"

Step 3 Look on the left hand side of the screen for the "Domain Manager" link and click.

Step 4 On the next screen choose the domain you want to forward by clicking on the check box next to the domain name. When you do the tool bar above the names will go from grayed out to clickable.

Step 5 Hover over forward and choose 'forward domain' for main domain names (or if you have a subdomain choose subdomain). *A subdomain is an add on domain name to an already existing domain and often look like: sample.clovercity.com

Step 6 type in the domain name you want it forwarded to, then click on preview to make sure it is correct.

*Advanced options are usually not necessary. Godaddy set them by default to be permanent to flag Google that this is a permanent change, not a temporary change, something that the search engines might decide is spam URL. Forward with masking keeps the original URL in the browser bar when the user arrives at the forwarded domain.
